Aoudad

Aoudad
The Aoudad, or Barbary Sheep has been introduced to North America, southern Europe and elsewhere, where some populations of the Aoudad are now naturalised in the wild and others are preserved on game ranches for hunting.

Sheep Hunting

Sheep hunting can offer the chance to bag a genuine trophy without threatening endagered species. The Aoudad has been introduced to many countries around the world, including Texas, Mexico, California and Africa. In Texas, for example, it is farmed on game ranches for hunting.

Barbary Sheep Introduced Populations

Barbary sheep (Aoudad) were introduced into South Eastern Spain and South Western United States (parts of Texas, New Mexico, California) and Mexico and in some parts of Africa. As a hardy species and in an area suited to the Aoudad, the Barbary Sheep are thriving in these new habitats. Ironicall, the species is thriving most in areas where the Aoudasd is hunted for sport.
